You are certain to pay more for the special accommodations. If you do not take your pet with you then you are left to decide between hiring a pet sitter and leaving your pet in a local kennel. You want to make sure that the home is ready for baby well in advance so that the pet has a chance to get used to that convertible crib being there.
All the work and responsibility does have pay off. You are bound to get unconditional love and loyalty from your dog or cat. They will patiently listen to you ramble about nothing. They will snuggle with you when you do not feel good. They look forward to greeting you as soon as you are home. Not many other family members offer all of that.
